SEVİL DOLMACI ART GALLERY PRESENTS AHMET ORAN'S SOLO EXHIBITION "TEPETAKAKLAK" SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE 17TH ISTANBUL BIENNIAL

Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery presents the solo exhibition Upside Down / Upside-Down by Ahmet Oran, one of the strongest representatives of Turkish abstract painting. The exhibition, which will take place at Akaretler Row Houses between September 15-October 3, is one of the parallel events of the 17th Istanbul Biennial.

In recent years, Ahmet Oran has been creating strikingly large-scale canvases and an expressive coloring style, creating a sense of spatial volume in his paintings. By tearing the paint, which is layered with a thick texture, with the touch of a spatula, he makes the field of action visible with gridded, geometric or lyrical lines. The artist, who has been using different sized spatulas or pieces of wood instead of brushes for many years, conveys Istanbul's historical layers, vibrant past, exciting contemporary life and non-stop energy to the viewer with his colorful paint palette in his multi-layered works. Upside Down will be a meaningful end to the artist's ongoing series.

Represented by Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery, the artist's exhibition Tepetaklak / Upside-Down can be seen at Akaretler Sıraevler No:19 on September 15-October 3 as a parallel event to the 17th Istanbul Biennial.
