Ekrem Yalçındağ was born in Adıyaman in 1964 and studied at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts. He completed his master's degree at the same university. Between 1994 and 1999, he worked as a professor at Frankfurt Städelschule and studied with Austrian avant-garde artist Hermann Nitsch. Yalçındağ pays homage to traditional craftsmanship by using geometric and floral motifs in his works, building a bridge between art and design. His compositions based on repetition and intertwined patterns offer visual illusions to the viewer, evoking a timeless feeling in a cultural context. The works of the artist, who has held many exhibitions in Turkey and internationally, are included in important collections such as Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, The Hague European Patent Office, Munich Goetz Collection and Munich Allianz Collection.
