SEVIL DOLMACI GALLERY AT THE 21ST EDITION OF CONTEMPORARY ISTANBUL
Sevil Dolmacı Gallery will participate in the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul, with a VIP Preview on 23 September and public days from 24–27 September 2026, presenting a comprehensive selection of works by 38 artists.
With this year’s edition of Contemporary Istanbul placing a particular emphasis on the Asian art scene, Sevil Dolmacı Gallery contributes to this focus with works by Cody Choi and Kim Hyunsik. By bringing two distinct practices from Asian contemporary art into its presentation, the gallery further expands its ongoing dialogue across different geographies and generations.
At Hall B | Booth B-146, the gallery brings together works by artists from different generations, geographies, and artistic practices. Spanning a range of media, with a particular focus on painting and sculpture, the selection reflects the multifaceted nature of Sevil Dolmacı Gallery’s current programme.
Nilbar Güreş is among the prominent artists featured in the gallery’s presentation this year. Internationally recognised for a practice that explores identity, gender, cultural belonging, and inherited social roles, Güreş is currently representing Türkiye at the 61st Venice Biennale.
The selection also presents new works by the gallery’s artists. Works by Nevin Aladağ, Daniel Firman, Koen Van Den Broek, Erwin Wurm, Barry X Ball, Ross Bleckner, Peter Halley, Bosco Sodi, Kartini Thomas, Armin Boehm, Aaron Johnson, Daniel Knorr, Reine Paradis, Thomas Schönauer, Eric Shaw, Michael John Kelly, Leif Trenkler, Ekrem Yalçındağ, Ahmet Oran, Serkan Özkaya, Elvan Alpay, Nihat Odabaşı, Barış Sarıbaş, Doğan Doğan, Gençay Aytekin, Sinem Sezgin Bozkurt, Tuna Özkaragöz, Göksü Gül, Doğa Topçu, Berkay Can Yılmaz, Yasin Uysallar, Ebru Döşekçi, Tuba Elmas, Gülfem Kessler, Serkan Sarıer, and Sinan Saül form part of a presentation that brings together a wide range of artistic practices and contemporary approaches.
The gallery’s presence at the fair extends beyond its booth. A sculpture by Thomas Schönauer will be presented as part of Contemporary Istanbul’s Sculpture Route, extending Sevil Dolmacı Gallery’s presence into the open-air spaces of Tersane Istanbul.
Bringing together different generations, geographies, and modes of artistic production, Sevil Dolmacı Gallery’s Contemporary Istanbul 2026 presentation reflects the breadth of the gallery’s programme. With its engagement with the Asian art scene and the presentation of new works by its artists, the selection brings diverse contemporary artistic approaches into dialogue within a comprehensive presentation.
