NİHAT ODABAŞI PRESENTS “OBSESSION OF BEAUTY” AT SEVİL DOLMACI GALLERY

Nihat Odabaşı, who for years has been one of Turkey’s most powerful visual minds in the fields of fashion, portrait, and celebrity photography, invites viewers into his personal universe—where beauty is reimagined—with his exhibition “Obsession of Beauty.” Taking place from June 2–7, 2026, at the historic Villa Ipranosyan, home to the Sevil Dolmacı Gallery, the exhibition reveals Odabaşı’s iconic images of women—shaped over the years—along with his passionate approach to the concept of perfection and his aesthetic sensibility.

Odabaşı’s visual language does not merely capture a face or a body; it reimagines it through light, composition, intervention, and aesthetic construction. “Obsessions of Beauty” explores not so much the documentation of beauty as how beauty is produced, transformed, and, over time, evolves into an obsession.

In the artist’s own words, this series—in which she “does not simply love the beauties she encounters as they are, but instead breaks them down and reconstructs them”—traces not so much beauty itself as the notion of perfection and the aesthetic obsession associated with it.

A sense of controlled aesthetics permeates the artist’s images; imperfections are erased, details are reimagined, and a new form of beauty emerges that bridges reality and fantasy. Throughout the exhibition, viewers are invited to look not only at the photographs but also at the desire, manipulation, and aesthetic obsession underlying the beauty.
