Matteo Mandelli is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist whose practice exists at the threshold between the physical and the digital, the intimate and the collective, the fragment and the infinite. His work explores what he describes as “the exact moment” — a space of encounter in which perception is disrupted and the boundaries between subject and environment become blurred. Drawing from a background that spans street art, spatial design, and conceptual performance, Mandelli’s practice is fueled by the tension between material presence and technological abstraction. Through the use of mirrors, screens, sound, coded environments, and artificial intelligence, he investigates notions of vulnerability, desire, and perception.

Mandelli has gained international recognition through his participation in prestigious art events such as Art Dubai, Frieze London, and Art Basel Hong Kong. His works, presented during the Venice Biennale at the Decentral Art Pavilion, have positioned his hybrid artistic language at the center of discussions surrounding post-digital culture and contemporary aesthetics. From the immersive performance The Contact at Museum Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan to Fioriture Sintetiche, an intervention in Cremona Cathedral, the artist has exhibited across a wide range of contexts, establishing a presence within both traditional and digital art platforms.

Beyond his visual and performative practice, Mandelli is also known for his radical projects addressing social and ecological issues. Through Cryptotramp, a project in which he stepped outside conventional systems for 730 days, he questioned the relationship between digital visibility and economic structures. In From the Sea to the Market, he transformed plastic waste into ritualistic objects, presenting a powerful ecological manifesto. Mandelli’s work continues to evolve as a living artistic language—one that embraces the contradictions of contemporary life, resists categorization, and invites a profound experience of presence.
