Mark Whalen (b. 1982, Sydney, Australia) is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles, CA. His work blends everyday themes with industrial materials, found objects, and elements from his studio, creating dynamic compositions that explore human forms, color, and reflective chrome surfaces. Through his sculptural storytelling, Whalen constructs layered narratives filled with disruptions, paradoxes, and playful inquiries into life and beyond. His work also pushes architectural boundaries, integrating art into both interior and environmental spaces.

Whalen studied graphic design at Martin College in Sydney and has exhibited internationally since 2006. His work has been featured in major institutions, including the National Gallery of Victoria (2018), RMIT School of Art in Melbourne (2013), a national touring exhibition with the National Gallery of Australia (2010-2011), Penrith Regional Gallery (2010), and the Museum of Contemporary Art Macro in Rome (2009).
