Gençay Aytekin was born in Istanbul in 1984. Between 2005-2011, he studied at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University's Painting Department under the guidance of Prof. Aydın Ayan. In 2011, she realized her first solo exhibition at Sanatorium. Between 2012 and 2022, she worked as an assistant in the studio of the well-known Turkish artist Ekrem Yalçındağ. She also assisted Hermann Nitsch during his performances in Istanbul in 2013. Aytekin's childhood interest in cartoons formed the basis of his current art, which is characterized by distinctive colors and dynamic lines. As one of the representatives of the new generation of pop art, Aytekin explores the challenges of existence and adulthood with a childish naivety. Inspired by pop art and the colorful world of the popular culture of her upbringing, she aims to create a vibrant and playful world. His works are included in various private collections as well as institutional collections such as Özyeğin University.
