VIlla Ipranosyan
Founded by art historian Sevil Dolmaci in 2017, Sevil Dolmacı istanbul opened its doors in its current gallery space, Villa Ipranosyan Building, in 2020. Since then, the gallery has expanded its artist portfolio by collaborating with prominent curators and has realized important exhibitions and projects exhibiting the works of well-known and emerging artists both locally and internationally.
The main gallery space is a Grade II listed building referred to as "Villa Ipranosyan" on Pervititch maps prepared between 1922 and 1945. The building was named after the Ipranosian family of Armenian origin, which was active in the textile and maritime transportation sector in the early 20th century. This building, which has been preserved until today with its wall decorations and marble workmanship, stands out as one of the original architectural examples of Istanbul.
Villa İpranosyan, now known as Sevil Dolmacı Gallery, serves as an art center that hosts national and international exhibitions with its terrace and garden overlooking the Bosphorus and four floors of exhibition space.
Sevil Dolmaci Dubai
Sevil Dolmacı Dubai opened its doors on November 6, 2023, responding to the need of Dubai and the UAE's diverse and dynamic population to access the international art market. Located in the heart of Dubai Design District, the intersection of art, design and fashion, Sevil Dolmacı Dubai is a contemporary gallery space with a "white cube" concept, offering a single volume space with high ceilings and large white walls.
The gallery aims to facilitate access to the international art market and at the same time develop a dynamic, sophisticated local art scene. With a strong commitment to the exchange of knowledge, culture and artistic expression, it serves as a platform for dialogue and collaboration. Working with and representing renowned international artists who have made significant contributions to art history, Sevil Dolmacı Dubai aims to build a bridge between the Western art world and the Middle East.
