In line with Contemporary Istanbul’s 20th anniversary and its U.S.-focused curatorial approach, Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery’s “Private Room” presentation will feature three masterpieces being shown in Turkey for the very first time:
- A 12-meter monumental work by American Pop Art pioneer James Rosenquist, previously exhibited at The Menil Collection, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum New York & Bilbao, Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, and the Portland Art Museum.
- The iconic 1980 sculpture Wandering Bliss Meets Fruit of the Loom by John Chamberlain, created from scrap materials and first exhibited in 1981 at The John and Marble Ringling Museum of Art.
- Envy, a striking masterpiece by contemporary sculptor Barry X Ball, inviting viewers into a profound aesthetic exploration.
In Turkey, the term “masterpiece” has often been used loosely for many works, but with this special selection, it truly finds its most authentic meaning
With this selection, Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery invites art lovers to embark on an unforgettable art journey on an international scale.
